'bout kings & queens

This is another demo recorded with the old 8-track analog recorder for cassette tape. It is written for guitar, bass, string quartet and piano (these last instruments played with keyboards), although afterwords I wanted to test battery and I liked the result. All instruments are in my charge, except for the battery of Nacho. This is a sad song about an impossible relationship. Although in the end it mustn’t have been so impossible, because she ended up being my wife and mother of my daughter. Obviously I had the same eye for relationships to the music industry. I hope you like it. It is a song which, for obvious reasons, I have great affection.
'bout kings & queens
When you were young you were told some stories
of princes and kings that happily live forever
But happy endings don’t exist
Can’t find out someone like this
I wanna live inside that story
so I can be with her forever
But I can’t be just like a king
I live in this reality
So I sail upon the ocean
and I dream that I was him
There was no one in the ocean
so I came back here to be
just one more inside the city
Just one more with broken dreams
And I don’t know if I’ll keep on
just trying to be the king
And it’s not fair to live in this world
It’s not fair to live with me
’cause you’ll never be the queen
And I won’t try to be your king
So I sail upon the ocean
and I dream that I was him
There was no one in the ocean
so I came back here to be
just one more inside the city
Just one more with broken dreams
And I don’t know if I’ll keep on
just trying to be
just trying to be the king
