Alex Ayones from Stolen Name - Classic rock music

We used to call him like this due to his great passion for white powder. It was 1997 when another unusual character crossed our path. He was one of those who responded to our infinite models shipments by mail (yes, dear reader, we sent demos on cassette tape by mail, nowadays even I find it ancient). He was a young guy, tall and he had very long hair in a ponytail. After knowing him a little, we suspected that he was the son of a rich man who wanted to play being music manager. He had very large and expensive offices in one of the best areas of Madrid, with secretaries preventing from contacting him when he was not in the mood. In addition, the man practiced santeria and he had figures of saints and stuff like that in his office. All very normal. Fortunately I never had to witness a sacrifice.

At first it seemed that the thing was moving; we did a couple of photo sessions and thousands of posters and cards where printed. The santero said he was organizing a macro-concert in which we would play so it could be a springboard for us. It would be a benefit show kinda like 1,985′s Live Aid, but the Spanish way, that is: never made.

Time passed and everything was falling by the wayside. Demonstrating his elitist education appropiate to his lineage, the Santero would no longer answer and our attempts to communicate would crash against his secretaries. At the end we canceled the contract for representation, hoping not to dawn with a decapitated chicken under the pillow, and each went his own way. Fortunately for us, soon after came into our lives the man that would be our new manager and producer: CT, whose story I tell in the post of Little lie… (sigh). The best we got from this whole situation is this song, in santero’s honor. This is a studio recording made about a year later as part of the ‘half album’ produced by CT

You try to be just someone
It’s not so easy, asshole
And when you get to make it
you find you’re just another one
with the shit behind the door

Stand by your babes so that shot
That shot will never catch you
Say hi to places that forever they’ve never been there, no
I’m afraid that you will not

You pay, you pay
In this f**kin’ world of yours
Snowman
You pay, you pay
If it ain’t true, it must be false
Snowman
You pay, you pay
And I don’t believe a word
Snowman
You pay, you pay

Say what you want but don’t you
think I’ll believe you this time
Suffer with no harm so you
make sure you’ll suffer once more
It’s the only thing you’ll do

You pay, you pay
In this f**kin’ world of yours
Snowman
You pay, you pay
If it ain’t true, it must be false
Snowman
You pay, you pay
And I don’t believe a word
Snowman
You pay, you pay

You pay, you pay
In this f**kin’ world of yours
Snowman
You pay, you pay
If it ain’t true, it must be false
Snowman
You pay, you pay
And I don’t believe a word
Snowman
You pay, you pay

You pay, you pay
Snowman
You pay, you pay
Snowman
You pay, you pay
